My collected thoughts. Inspired by a cup of tea and an absorbing book. Flamed bright by hubris.

Quickie Update...

This morning, thinking I would get up early and get some work done on the book, I was surprised to hear my children singing while coming up the stairs, "Happy Valentine's Day to you…"

They stopped mid-song with the sound of spilled water hitting the floor. They had made us breakfast in bed. Of course, they could only fix certain things, so I had a pile of baby carrots and a microwaved egg. All swimming in water from one of the glasses that tipped. My daughter proudly handed me bottle of beri-beri spices (that I picked up from an Eritrian store) and said that I could sprinkle it on top, for she wasn't sure how much I wanted.

It was very sweet. It also came with a giant orange poster of a heart. Well, as soon as I choked down some of the breakfast, I got up to make them breakfast.
