| My Response to Criticism | ||||||||||||
Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

I sometimes wonder why I allow comments to my postings here, because if anyone were to post a comment on my website that didn’t agree with my views (and on my web site, my views are always correct But what is the point to a rebuttal? For instance, on one of my “long” howardisms (Is Zeus either Odhinn or Thor?), someone who ran across it posted a comment. Her comment showed a difference of opinion, and while equally valid, I just had to respond. Of course, I don’t want to offend her and her beliefs (and I know that most pagans feel that they have accurately reconstructed the ancient belief system, but not to my satisfaction … oh boy, I guess you better click on the link to see what I’m rambling on about). So, while I think that her opinion is as valid as mine, I must feel that my is slightly more valid, and that I must defend it. But what really amuses me about myself, is that I care … both what she thinks and what others who may read my “howardism” might think. I really shouldn’t care. I post things, not because I have some agenda, but because others might find it as interesting and entertaining as I do. Why are humans so good at having paradoxes dance in their heads.
