| When the Battle is Won... | ||||||||||||
Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

Bush's "War on Terrorism" bothers me. Not because I'm in favor of terrorism, or anything so unpatriotic, but I question the real motivation behind such actions. I guess Thomas Walkom (see article on ZNet) said it pretty clearly: What makes this war so superior, in political terms, is its vagueness. Since the terrorist, by definition, can be anyone... More important, we can never know when we've won. As a result, this war has the capacity to go on forever.Even while claiming that this will bolster America's economy, seems to be ethically dirty. When the battle is won, treat it as a wake. Thought originally posted on Monday, 10 June 2002
