| The Transcendental Plane | ||||||||||||
Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

I was reading in Psychology Today about an interview with Edward O. Wilson, who was a controversial figure a couple of decades ago when he first described the term, sociobiology. It is a very interesting interview and brought up a number of mind chewtoys, one of which, went along with that previous email I sent under the subject of a tea thought. Near the end, the interviewer asks Dr. Wilson about the existence of a theistic God, to which he answers:
Once again, I'm forced to ponder the question of which is more right: belief or independence? Thought originally posted on Wednesday, 21 October 1998

Why batter yourself over the “damned vs. saved” or “believer vs. independent thinker”? You are all of them in the interpretive eyes of some other’s lazy belief that they loosely veil as a “religion”. Remeber that if we refer to that transcendental plane as seperate from ourselves then we are removing ourselves from the simple truth that all religions espouse; We are god. The “higher plane” is nothing more than a self actualization of truth and unadultrated bonding of all that exists in our narrow perception of all nature. Those who wish to put the recognition of it dependent upon a hirerarchial structure dependent upon servitude and seperation of the transparent material possesions are one of two things; one, lesions upon the truth because of their selfish agenda or two, those who need the dependent thought to express their need for independent belief. Thus a bad yin yang cycle is created where they prey upon each other and hence get wrapped up in their own cycle rether than participate in the cycle of seeking all of the edges of other perceptions that they have locked themselves out of. Pity the non-independent portions of god that seek to define their coagulations as the whole rather than as the small blockages that they create. God is probably more like the development of a child throgh to adulthood and beyond; Constantly looking within all of its resources and parts to coordinate what it is thus allowing itself to join in functioning with the masses as an individual. Impedence comes from those areas that cannot or will not allow for self actualization…. Sorry, I get bored sometimes…… Peter Comment posted on Saturday, 6 July 2002 |
