Soul of a Palm

Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

I got a new Palm Pilot. And since I have a large collection of data that lived in my old Palm, I transferred my data and settings from the old one to the new. Now the new Palm acts just like my old one, but with new features. My data seems to be enjoying this new host body.

There's got to be an insight in here somewhere, and I'm trying to find the one that isn't quite so obvious … I mean, software isn't physically tangible, and can be transferred and duplicated easily from computer to another. Can souls, because they aren't physical, be duplicated easily. Or is a soul just a collection of the "computer programs" that live in the memory. In this case, some pieces (memes, stories, descriptions) are easily copied and transferred from one person to another. Hmm....

Nope. Not much of an insight. Oh well.
