| The Thrill of Ego Surfin' | ||||||||||||
Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

Everyone does it … now admit it, you have too. You know what you do in the privacy of your home, late at night, in front of the computer … you type your own name into the Google search engine … I know, the shame … the embarrassment of it. If your family just knew you were ego surfin' … What would your friends think of you? I'll admit that lately I haven't been ego surfin' per se … but I do check my referral logs to see if anyone has made a hyperlink to my site. This morning, I just noticed that Tom Menke, lists my site as one of his "Current Favorites" … kind of an honor to have a total stranger like what you do for fun. So, thanks Tom for making my day … oh, and nice to meet you … at least virtually. On a somewhat related subject … well, related because I have been thinking about it today. A few months ago I mentioned an article about Alice Matzkin, my currently favorite artist, and noticed that she actually came to my site and left a comment. Its amazing how much exposure a simple blog can generate. Thought originally posted on Friday, 7 February 2003
