Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

A close friend of mine, wrote this poem, and I thought she deserved a link. Especially since it seems so appropriate nowadays. Of course, poems like these will almost always be appropriate now matter what is on the headlines … since the headlines have always sounded like a scratched record … we have to look at the date to make sure it is today's newspaper and not last years or a paper caught in a timewarp from the 70's or 40's or whatever. The Wheel of Fortune, or the merri-go-round (to borrow John Lennon's expression), will always be spinning. And there are times in my life when I felt at peace with the world … unlike now. Chances are good that the wheel will spin me back into peace … So soon, the dweeb who is currently "running the show" will be gone, and another dweeb will take his place. We may or may not miss the first dweeb. But the more the world changes, the more it stays the same. Thought originally posted on Sunday, 23 February 2003
