Waiting for the Thaw

Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

Well, with all the inclement weather the Pacific Northwest area is having, we are all just waiting around for Spring to come and let us out of our houses. Freezing rain created a nice coat of ice on top of a few inches of snow… and we just aren’t equipped for this sort of thing.

Didn’t worry about it much living in Utah were a few feet might end up on our house, but snow-ploughs are plentiful (just about everyone with a big pickup had an attachable shovel for it).

But not here.

I don’t think that Portland has any… well, I think they have a couple for the highways, but not for my street. So, everyone I know is home straining broth from boiled Nike shoes and claiming to work from home. But after a few days of sitting in front of the computer in my pajamas, I figured it was at least time to take a shower.

But the most interesting sensation I’ve had over this last week was finally getting around to brushing my teeth. Wow, you just don’t expect that sort of build-up in just two (or was it three) days.

Maybe I should add that to my list of Reality Bites experiments. Maybe I shouldn’t mention this sort of thing in public. Maybe I should go back to bragging about my competencies in dental hygiene. Maybe I should just stop and quick making this situation worse.
