| On Staying Home | ||||||||||||
Thoughts I've thunk while sippin' at a cup of tea and reading something provoking, often get dropped here for the benefit of humanity and my own hubris.

Amanda makes some great comments concerning the latest issue of Time and its cover story, “The Case For Staying Home: Why more young MOMS are opting out of the rat race.” Just for the record, my wife stays home and does the bulk of caring for our two angelic rugrats. We both consider ourselves lucky that we can. Granted, we made some decisions financially and otherwise, that afforded us this luxury. I’d like to think that I could stay home with the kids every day, but I’ll admit that I just don’t have enough patience. I do help out with both caring for the house and the kids, as it is a lot of work. Perhaps if I hit it big, we can lower our pride and hire maids. I think a more realistic goal will be just to let the kids get big enough, and then make them do all the work. Thought originally posted on Saturday, 25 September 2004
